Pure winter fun
Experience delightful days in Kals-Matrei - with a view of more than sixty 3000 meter peaks
the temperatures are getting warmer and spring is just around the corner. Enjoy our perfectly groomed slopes on the Goldried in Matrei and in Sillian - Hochpustertal until March 7th, 2021. After that, the skiing fun on the weekend in St. Jakob im Def. Continues until Easter. During the Easter holidays (up to and including Easter Monday) we will be open every day. Due to the slightly higher location, we have the best snow conditions here until the end of the season! We ask for your understanding and look forward to a visit to the St. Jakob i. Def.
The merger to form the Grossglockner Resort has made the Kals and Matrei ski areas the largest ski area in East Tyrol. Austria's highest mountain as a direct counterpart and over 60 three-thousand meter peaks of the Hohe Tauern on the horizon stand for an “over the top” skiing experience.
17 state-of-the-art ski lifts take snow lovers to over 2,600 meters. Downhill gourmets leave their tracks on dreamy descents, which are doubly secured by the legendary East Tyrolean snow guarantee and additional snow-making facilities.
The wide and treeless carver slopes and freeride areas below the Cimaross summit, as well as the three valley runs, including the longest valley run in East Tyrol to Matrei, and the exclusive carver slope really take off.
When using the ski slopes while the ski is in operation, adults and children aged 10 and over must carry a valid negative Covid test.
When riding in the cable car or on the chairlift with weather protection, an FFP2 mask from 15 years of age must be worn. The cable car and the chairlifts may only be 50% occupied. We ask you to observe the minimum distance at the checkout area and when queuing at the lifts!
